Job Purpose

The Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of various business-related curriculums targeted to Members, Producers, and Agencies. The role-based curriculum will focus on building OneShare's programs and business acumen that supports our ability to provide outstanding service to our Clients and differentiate us from our competitors. This position also partners with business unit subject matter experts and Human Resources to assess developmental needs, identify suitable training solutions for employees and drive training initiatives and skills coaching.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Designs and creates training procedure manuals, course materials and job aids using various forms and formats (in classroom, online, hybrid) to maximize the learner experience
  • Identifying employee developmental/training needs and develop programs/initiatives to meet those needs to enhance performance
  • Actively search, creatively design and suggest effective methods of training
  • Develop and maintain training calendar and agenda. This will encompass classes for new hires, existing employees and various initiatives
  • Facilitates training sessions and workshops utilizing professional presentation skills
  • Creates a learner-centered environment that maximizes retention and utilizes various adult-learning theories and methodologies
  • Delivers functional training in various forms and formats including in person and online group discussion, lecture, simulations/role-play, and recorded media
  • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, relevant, accurate, engaging and effective
  • Administers and develops evaluation tools (i.e. exam, quiz, test case study, audit, etc.) to serve as feedback in determining training successes and improvement outcomes
  • Develops project plans based on learning assignments and/or corporate objectives
  • Maintains and completes all requested training reports and tracks attendance via the company's LMS system
  • Supports, communicates, and reinforces the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Interviews and consults with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop learning objectives
  • Regularly completes immersion training in all functional areas of Customer Service/Contact Center to ensure full understanding of duties and daily work


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years in the healthcare industry, specifically in claims processing, adjudication and revenue cycle
  • 2+ years experience in a training role strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of adulting learning principals and practical applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Power Point and Excel
  • Experience with Articulate 360 software helpful but not required
